Our house is under the shade of a beautiful mango tree whose fruit is sweet, tart, sticky, juicy . . . a perfect match for this season of our lives.

You scraped my heart!
We just got back from a month in Utah, living communally with Michael and Julie and (most of the time) Margaret and their families in my mom's house. It was cousin mania, and we loved it. But it wasn't all happy times and united order. Just ask Henry, Michael's youngest son. He is four years old, and while Dan was in the middle of a much-needed nap, Henry went down in his room and decided to pounce on Uncle Dan. Well, Uncle Dan has cat-like reflexes, even in his sleep, and he was able to snatch and throw Henry off in swift and definite motions, freaking the poor child out. He wasn't hurt, except for his feelings, and in bitter dejection, Henry yelled out at Dan, "YOU SCRAPED MY HEART!" Stinks to get your heart scraped by your uncle. He's not usually a heart-scraper, Henry. I'll vouch for him. Just be careful about the uncles you choose to pounce on. Actually, I don't think Chad or Justin would be good candidates either, though they might not go so far as to scrape your heart.

I'm pretty sure Justin would scrape anyone's heart who dared to pounce on him...
