Charlie said to me today, "When Daddy is dead..." He left it at that for a good 10 seconds while I wondered how I had misheard him. "When Daddy is dead, can I get a bunny?"
I guess Dan told Charlie that when he is grown up, he can have whatever pet he wants. It is unsettling, to be honest, at how quickly Charlie dumped his parent into the grave on the way to the pet store. Those bunnies are cute and all, but I fear they will now be a symbol of doom to me. No more the cuddly ushers of spring and chocolate eggs!!! No bunnies in THIS house, to be sure. At least until I die. And here we are back at the beginning with Charlie tapping his toes until the time comes for him to get his bunny.
